From Screenshot to posted image

Hi. This guide will talk about how to get a Fiesta screenshot onto a forum post.

The first thing you need to do is press the "PrtScn" button on your keyboard. This button copies everything on the current visible screen to your clipboard. Now, since more than likely you will only want to post a smaller portion of the whole screen, you may need to crop the image.

To crop the image, you need to open up some graphical editing program, such as microsoft paint, or adobe photoshop, and select the area you want, and delete the rest. Since this guide is mainly about actually posting the image, i wont go into detail, but if you require any help with cropping the image, feel free to ask me.

Once you have obtained the image you wish to post, and saved it somewhere, you are ready to upload it to the web. To do this, you must find a good image hosting site. For extreme simplicity and effectiveness, id recommend imageshack.us. There are many more out there. You just need to find the best one for you. Ill list a few:

For the purpose of this guide, i will be using imageshack. Once you are at the main page, press the "Browse" button. This lets you select the image from your computer to be uploaded.

Once you have selected the image, press "Host It!". This uploads your image onto the imageshack server.


The next page may seem a bit daunting, since there are so many different links. This page shows you the address of the image you have just uploaded.

Find the address that is titled "direct link". This is the exact address to your image. Copy this link to the clipboard.



Now, this forum uses what we call "BBcode". BBcode allows users to do a variety of things, such as format text, create lists, and....post images! To post images, the image tag is required. The following tag opens an image tag:

[img]

When we are closing the image tag, we use the following:

[/img]

Thus, the sytnax for this image tag is:

[img]ADDRESS[/img]

So when you are writing your post, type exactly that^^ However, remember that address we obtained from uploading our image before? well put that in between the image tags. So for example:

[img]htp://img111.imageshack.us/img111/2848/untitled25hp.gif[/img]
